Be on the lookout

lion

"Be self-controlled and alert.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith,

because you know that your brothers

throughout the world are undergoing the same

kind of sufferings.  And the God of all grace,

who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,

after you have suffered a little while, will Himself

restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen."

1 Peter 5:8-11

My wonderful friend Rebecca did an excellent post about this yesterday.  I hadn’t really thought of satan like that before.  I knew he was on the prowl but the way she makes you visualize it is amazing!  For those of you that really want a good read, head on over and check out her

I heard a pastor once tell a story concerning their time on a mission. They were warned not to go out at night, but their guide was late for dinner and being impatient, he kept going out on the porch to look for him. (He thought he'd be safe if he just stepped out on the porch). After sometime passed the guide finally showed up and said, "I would have been here sooner, but there was a lion prowling in front of your door."

Often we forget that the lion is right outside our door prowling. And we think we are safe if we step out into the night (or sin) as long as we don't go to deep.

I love your blog, and I am glad I found it. Thanks for the link as well, it was a great post.

Welcome Michelle! I'm glad you stopped by.

I love your story as well. Yes we often forget how close he is to our front door too. Just prowling around, waiting to be pounced on.
