Jesus Calling

So.. a friend of mine was/is doing a daily devotional called Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.  I decided to head on over iTunes and see what they had since I had a gift card for iTunes.  They had it so I got it.  I really like it.  The one I got is more like an app than the audible book but I still like it.  I haven’t had it that long but just wanted to share.  I will be posting my daily devotions for a while too since I have nothing much else to write about lately.

This is what the one I got from iTunes looks like

Jesus calling

Here’s my devotionals so far.

From Jesus Calling- Devotions for every day of the year

Day 1

Come to Me with a teachable spirit eager to be changed.  A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness.  Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year, instead seek My face with an open mind.  Knowing that your journey with me involves being transformed by the renewing of your mind.  As you focus your thoughts on Me be aware that I am fully attentive to you.  I see you with a steady eye because My attention span is infinite.  I know and understand you completely. My thoughts embrace you in everlasting love.  I also know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Give yourself fully to this adventure of increasing attentiveness to My presence.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Day 2

Relax in My healing presence as you spend time with Me, your thoughts tend to jump ahead to todays plans and problems. Bring your mind back to Me, for refreshment and renewal.  Let the light of My presence soak into you as you focus your thoughts on Me.  Thus I equip you to face whatever the day brings  This sacrifice of time pleases Me and strengthens you. Do not skimp on our time together.  Resist the clamber of tasks waiting to be done.  You have chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from you.

Psalm 105:4

Seek the Lord, and His strength: seek His face evermore.

Luke 10: 39-42

She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He said.40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things,42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Day 3

Refresh yourself in the peace of My presence, this peace can be your portion at all times and in all circumstances.   Learn to hide in the secret of My presence even as you carry out your duties in the world.  I am both with you and within you.  I go before you to open up the way, and I also walk along side you.  There can never be another companion as devoted as I am because I am your constant companion, there should be a lightness to your step so it is observable to others.  Do not be weighted down with problems and unresolved issues for I am your burden bearer.  In the world you have trials and distress, but don't let them get you down.  I have conquered the world and deprived it of power to harm you.  In me you may have confident peace

Psalm 31:19-20

19 How abundant are the good things

that you have stored up for those who fear you,

that you bestow in the sight of all,

on those who take refuge in you.

20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them

from all human intrigues;

you keep them safe in your dwelling

from accusing tongues.

John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Pin It
