Waiting, trusting, and hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand, because it is the response from My children that I desire the most. Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chain that connects you to Me. Waiting for Me to work, with your eyes on Me, is evidence that you really do trust Me. If you mouth the words “I trust You” whole anxiously trying to make things go your way, your words ring hollow. hoping is future-directed, connecting you to your inheritance in heaven. However, the benefits of hope fall fully on you in the present.
Because you are Mine, you don’t just pass time in your waiting. You can wait expectantly, in hopeful trust. Keep your “antennae” out to pick up even the faintest glimmer of My Presence.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. ~John 14:1
Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD. ~Psalm 27:14
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.~Hebrews 6:18-20
My thoughts:
This one has so many wonderful verses! His word is true, His word are promises to us!! Really really need to mean it when we say ‘I trust You Lord’ Trust is the hardest thing to do sometimes but if we can’t trust our Father than who can we trust?
So.. a friend of mine was/is doing a daily devotional called Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. I decided to head on over iTunes and see what they had since I had a gift card for iTunes. They had it so I got it. I really like it. The one I got is more like an app than the audible book but I still like it.
This is such a wonderful promise!
ReplyDeleteAnd, His promises are true, whole and and all-encompassing, bringing me to new understandings, everyday. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed as my husband and I wait on results over the next several weeks to see if the chemo got ride of all his cancer. I need to trust in the Lord and not be worried but leave it in his hands!
