Today I am talking about Lamentations 3:22-27
I used some of this passage last week in my His Word Friday post. This is obviously speaking to me because I keep going back to it.
It does speak volumes. Because of the Lord’s great love for us we are not consumed! How wonderful is that? That when we trust in Him and go to Him with our struggles He is there for us. His love for us will not let us be consumed. When we trust in Him, and not in this world, we truly will not be consumed, He will help us through it all!
His love for us is greater than any sin, so we shouldn’t worry about what is going on in our lives, we need to continue to go to Him, for the forgiveness, love and peace He promises for us!
When we are disobedient there are times that punishment does come with that. That is the way the Lord teaches us. When we come to ‘bear the yoke’ we are under God’s discipline and learning to do what He is teaching us to do. It is hard sometimes and yes we will fail sometimes but He is always patient, loving, understanding and forgiving!
So just continue to trust in the Lord.
- Trust that His ways are the right ways.
- Trust that He is always faithful
- Trust in His love
- Trust in His teachings
- Trust in His forgiveness
- Trust that His compassions are new every morning
Lamentations 3:22-27 (NKJV)
20 My soul still remembers
And sinks within me.
And sinks within me.
21 This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
Therefore I have hope.
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”
“Therefore I hope in Him!”
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.
For the salvation of the Lord.
27 It is good for a man to bear
The yoke in his youth.
The yoke in his youth.
