Crafty Tuesday

Since we have been doing a lot of crafts lately and making homemade cleaners/laundry soap for the house I haven’t been on much lately.. I also wanted to share this great idea I cam across and did the other day.  So.. I am sharing my post from my other blog.  Hope you enjoy!
Crafty Tuesday 2
Welcome to Crafty Tuesday!  Crafty Tuesday is to share with others your craftiness, either with things you have made (craftiness or baking because that’s crafty too!) little ideas on fun things with the kids or something cute you have found that you would like to make!  Please feel free to link up and take the button in the sidebar on the right hand side!  Thanks!!!

Embroidering your child’s art work.
I saw this a while back, bookmarked it and then couldn’t remember where I bookmarked it at.  I still had to search for a transfer pencil and just never remembered….

Once I got on Pinterest I saw the cute idea again and I just had to do it.  Especially now that Mad is in PreK and is really starting to make some cute stuff.

I had her draw a girl and write her name, which she did all by herself!  I am so proud!!!

Then she said she wanted it into a doll like on the picture I showed her so that is how we did it.  All I had, well the closest thing I could grab, was an old t-shirt so I just embroidered on that.  I turned the picture around and stuck it up to a window, trying to save ink, and used the transfer pencil to trace it…Then you just lay it down on your material and iron the paper and it will transfer it to the material!  So cool!!  (and now I’m not sure where I put the pencil Sad smile )

Then I just put it in the hoop and got to work…

She picked out the color for each thing too… she almost had purple hair.. and just as I was getting ready to start with the purple I asked again to make sure… then she decided to have it blonde like hers.

She kept asking me if I was done and wanting me to hurry up!  This is really the first thing I have embroidered since maybe grade school or Jr. High.

And here it is all done.

We both love it!

I can’t wait to do some more, and I am thinking that this will almost make some cute framed gifts for Christmas.  Shhh…

or maybe make up some squares throughout the years and make it up for when she is a little older… showing all of her childhood art work.  I think that would be neat!  And if she doesn’t want it then I will def. keep it!
Here’s the link to the one I found on Pinterest.
