Are you listening?

"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man, who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." James 1:22-25 

How easily we forget this.  When we first start out our journey we are so eager to soak up everything and to do our best to live like God would want us to.  Then something happens and we get off track a little, start doing the things we used to do and not studying His word as often as we should.  If we just continue to read the bible do our studies but don't do it with all our heart then we are not doing what He wants us to do. (when we study with our whole heart, we are more aware of how we are acting.  Well, I know I am anways. (= )

God wants us to love one another, to be kind to one another, not judge, to really listen to people instead of doing it half way.  He wants us to be able to go out and tell anyone and everyone about Him and His magnificent Son!  I really want to be that person God wants me to be.  I want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see because I am making Him happy.  Why is it that sometimes we just worry more about what others will think of us?  It should only matter what God and Jesus think of us and thankfully they love us unconditionally but think of how great it would be if we could be what He had in mind from the start!?!
